Maze, J. J.: - J. J. Maze is an award-winning author as well as a singer, composer, and educator in Chicago. She was a runaway and high school dropout at age fifteen. After surviving some harrowing experiences on the streets, she toured internationally as a singer/songwriter for over a decade, then got her GED and went back to college as a performance major, receiving her MM in classical vocal performance from Northwestern University. Ms. Maze is a highly sought-after vocal coach and remains an active part of the Chicago music scene. In her downtime, she likes nothing more than laughing with good friends and walking her two dogs, Bella and Lenny. She's published 2 memoirs (Walk Until Sunrise and Mercy's View: Blackout) and a collection of short stories (Music Notes: Tales from an American Singer).
