A true story from the 1970s that follows a period in the lives of five young brothers in Ojai, California. Their lives are turned upside down as their family fractures under the weight of verbal abuse and depression that pulls their parents apart.

The brothers are thrust into terrible circumstances, and at a young age are forced to survive without the security traditionally provided by a family structure. This story follows the author's journey as one of those five boys who navigates abuse, homelessness, starvation and trauma as he strives to achieve his dreams in the worst of circumstances.
