Sonette and her family never imagined living outside of South Africa until opportunity came knocking. Originally South African born and living in the Western Cape, they packed their bags and left for a faraway island in Thailand called Koh Samui. With two youngsters Connor and Carmen they started exploring the beautiful island of Koh Samui and Koh Phangan. Realizing that it wasn't too difficult to travel with the children the older two teenagers, Christiaan and Chantel joined them in their travels. They are a close-knit family and relished the Thai-culture that is very family oriented.

Sonette spends her time homeschooling the children on a U.S. based accredited system called Acellus. This study system helps with schooling children while traveling. Sonette has a B.Tech in Information Technology with an interest in writing during her spare time. She is very excited to bring you with her, on her journey with the people, culture and learnings from Koh Samui and surrounding island Koh Phangan.
