It's the thing I say when I can't say anything. The words I offer when there are no words. Because I cannot take my heart out of my chest and let it sit with another's.

But if I could?

Maybe it would speak some magic and healing words that give solace.

Maybe it would wrap another up in comfort and safety until the fragments of trauma, grief, and pain learn to align.

Maybe it would just be a companion to lean on, holding out the jagged and abrasive world, if only for a little while.

Maybe it would offer a soft, warm, and glowing luminescence in a well of darkness.

Maybe...

This book, the second in my multi-series memoir, is a book about complex people.

Messy relationships.

Confusing and complicated experiences.

And living- and loving- through it all.

About seeing beauty and hope hiding under the stones within the rubble.

The cover has masonry on it and green text, an homage to my stone mason Daddy, about whom many vignettes within the book are written.

The book itself is dedicated to men who supported me when I built up the courage to talk about vulnerable things.
