Sydney in the 1920s: a melting pot of people from all nations, a lawless, raucous destination for the drug-addled, the criminally inclined and those seeking adventure-or a sticky end. In that part of the city-christened "Razorhurst" by the tabloid dailies-where most of the booze, drugs and vice thrives, crime is the status quo, barely held in check by police brutality and living large off the poor, defenceless and destitute. But, along with the crime, other forms of evil fester there, other dangers and other atrocities against which most forces-for good or ill-are unprepared.
