The Au Pair follows the story of Max, a young man who, instead of taking the traditional route of college or employment, decides to spend a year abroad as an au pair in Paris, France. Filled with optimism and excitement for the adventures that await him, Max looks forward to discovering his true self during this transformative year.

Unfortunately, his aspirations are shattered when his experience as an au pair quickly turns into a nightmare. Max becomes a prisoner of his host family, the Daxes, and after managing to escape their household, he finds himself falsely accused of murder by them.
