Lincoln, Joseph C.: - Joseph Crosby "Joe" Lincoln (1870-1944), the son of a sea captain, was born in Brewster on Cape Cod. Beginning in 1904 with Cap'n Eri, he wrote over forty novels spinning "yarns" of the lives of the people who lived and worked on Cape Cod. He said of the Cape, "There is a serenity of life there and a friendliness that is nurtured by the peaceful surroundings. I love Cape Cod." His tales are filled with the wit, pastimes, romances and sometimes the prejudices that reflect a Cape Cod now gone by. He wrote over forty novels with sales ranging from 30,000 to 100,000 copies.
