The Girl in the Orange Maillot

De (autor): Bailey Herrington

Herrington, Bailey: -

Bailey Herrington served for twenty-four years as the Lutheran pastor of five congregations in Pennsylvania and West Virginia. After a brief career as a Certified Fund Raising Executive, He enrolled in a Writers Digest course on writing short stories. Challenged by a friend to write a full length mystery novel about a kumquat, he finished the manuscript. Recognizing its "worth," he laid it to rest in a manila folder at the rear of a file drawer.
Undaunted, Bailey wrote and published five fictional adaptations of actual crimes. Protagonist David Elliott the inadvertent amateur detective, and Judy, his feisty, courageous partner, use their intelligence, intuition and library resources to investigate and solve homicides.
The Girl in the Orange Maillot was nominated for the Dashiell Hammett Prize For Literary Excellence in Crime Writing.
BookTrib named Bailey's book Dead to Rights one of the "twenty-five best reads of 2023."
Among his favorite "reads" A Gentleman in Moscow, Amor Towles; To Kill a Mockingbird, Harper Lee; The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, Stieg Larson; Lessons in Chemistry, Bonnie Garmus; A Man Called Ove, Fredrik Backman, and any mystery written by Henning Mankell.
Bailey enjoys conversations with strangers he encounters in the barbershop, restaurants, bars, supermarkets, bookstores and waiting in line at Jersey Mike's.
Bailey likes -not necessarily in this order- cousin Fred's recipe for Muffaletta, wife Karen's cherry pie, single malt Scotch whiskey, baseball, and his great-grandsons.
