Q Cannon George: - "George Quayle Cannon (January 11, 1827 - April 12, 1901) was an early member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, serving in the First Presidency under four successive church presidents: Brigham Young, John Taylor, Wilford Woodruff, and Lorenzo Snow. He was the church's chief political strategist, called "the Mormon Premier" and "the Mormon Richelieu" by the press. He was also a five-time territorial delegate to the United States Congress from Utah. Cannon was the eldest of six children born to George Cannon and Ann Quayle in Liverpool, England. His mother and father were from the Isle of Man's Peel. Leonora Cannon, his father's sister, married future Latter Day Saint apostle John Taylor and was converted in 1836. When Taylor came to Liverpool four years later, the entire Cannon family was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; George Q. Cannon aged 13 years young at that point in time. Mary Alice Cannon (Lambert), Ann Cannon (Woodbury), Angus M. Cannon, David H. Cannon, and Leonora Cannon (Gardner) were Cannon's siblings. The Cannon family sailed to the United States in 1842 to join the church in Nauvoo, Illinois."
